Whatever your reason for wanting to learn to scuba dive, the British Sub Aqua Club training scheme will be suitable for you. The training is comprehensive and will enable you to dive safely anywhere in the world. You need no experience and the training course can be completed within the club (we have very experienced, qualified instructors) or we can put you in touch a local commercial company for your training and then you can dive with us afterwards; whichever is most convenient for you.
If you choose to learn within the club environment you will benefit from the experience and enthusiasm of other
club members. As an added incentive, anyone joining the club before the end of January 2007 will get a
5% discount
off the club's membership fee.
Not sure if you you will enjoy diving? No problem, just come along for a Try Dive where, for an evening we will tell you about what's involved and let you try out some of the gear in the pool for just £15. If you decide you like it the cost of the Try Dive is deducted from your first membership fee.
If you have already done some diver training either with BSAC or any other organisation (such as PADI, SAA etc) you are more than welcome to join our club but you may need to do some simple cross-over training first. You will NOT be expected to complete the whole BSAC syllabus, merely the sections which might not have been included in your original training. If your original training was completed abroad in nice warm water, it would also be sensible to carry out some straightforward dives in the UK to acclimatise to the different conditions.
We have tried to provide answers to the questions we are most frequently asked. Follow this link to read them.
